Monica Foster Launches How-to Site for aspiring performers
The problem is, you look at her IAFD listing and discover she's only been in twelve movies, near all of which were in 2008. Furthermore, none of them appear to feature anal, double penetration, gangbangs, BDSM or even girl/girl content. It seems to me her experience in porn is very limited. Given this fact, should she be advising anyone about anything related to porn?
She also states the following in the Xbiz article, "To my knowledge, there is no other free online resource for women in the porn business such as GettingIntoPorn.com." But then she goes on to state that she "researched" the information on her website by reading free industry news sites, blogs and message boards such as this one!
I haven't logged onto this site in months, but I figured I needed to go ahead and do so in order to reply and clear a few things up.
Snowman, you are correct - IAFD only has about 12 of my movies listed, however I've shot many more than 12 scenes since March of 2008 (IAFD does not factor in scenes shot specifically for the web - which is the future of the distribution of porn - ex: Naughty America, Reality Kings, Bang Bros, etc).
When I first got into the adult film business I did research as much as possible via every free resource I could find as I stated in the Xbiz article - HOWEVER none of the free resources I was able to find had all the information that I put into gettingintoporn.com in one, easy to navigate, easy to read and easy to find place - which is the POINT of gettingintoporn.com
I am TRYING to HELP women considering entering the porn business with that site. I don't know everything about the adult industry nor do I claim to, but I DO know quite a bit and fortunately God and the Universe gave me the gift to be able to compile information and format it in a way that is accessable to everyone and anyone who finds it for free - which (not to toot my own horn), is much more than over 90% of other women and men who have traveled my path as far as I have (or futher) have done.
So I suppose to conclude, I'm simply going to say, before you crticize and find "inconsistencies" in what I say, or articles that have been written about me which take quotes from a second hand source generally - I suggest you look at my reasons behind my projects (which in this case is to help other women not fall into the same traps as I have while trying to navigate the waters of the adult business) rather than whether or not I'm the most qualified candidate to take them on.
I reviewed your Getting Into Porn website for the first time this evening and came away with a good impression. Most of the advice you posted is solid and potentially could help girls who are new to the industry or thinking of jumping in. Surprisingly, I didn't find very much that I objected to or even disagreed with. I suppose I was expecting that you would have more of an agenda based on bad experiences but to your credit, you maintain a fairly neutral tone on most topics.
Thanks Snowman for taking the time to actually read through the site. The only "agenda" I had with it, was to clue women in as to what to expect, and as I continue in the industry, I'll be adding more of my thoughts/views to the site it's self and the attached blog. Porn is neither good or bad - it's just an industry.
I really liked reading your posts above. Thank you for talking to and not at each other.

This is an interesting point.
Is there a reliable source listing Internet based/produced scenes for individual performers?

Thanks Quag! I try to lead by example.
To the best of my knowledge there is no reliable, comprehensive online database with accurate filmographies of starlets listing both DVD scenes and content appearing only on the Internet. It would be such a huge undertaking that few even attempt it. Plus it's hard to keep on top of all the online content out there. There are literally thousands of pay porn sites out there at this point as you can see from Porn Link Bonanza (which is by no means an exhaustive list). In recognization of the changing porn landscape, I've started listing a few Internet scenes on APH Starlet pages now on an ad hoc basis as I come across them.
I understand that Crown Model Management requires live auditions of all applicants. I am comfortable performing any and/or all of the sexual acts which I selected above at the time of my audition, and I understand that this will be required of me. I.E., I am comfortable having sex at my audition.
