APH Shooting Star Award (2008)

This thread will be used for the nomination and selection of the APH Shooting Star Award (i.e. Best Newbie). The award may be presented at the Annual Blue Syren Erotica LA Dinner in Los Angeles.

Nominations from board members are being accepted now! Please nominate two starlets who shot their first scene between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007. That roughly translates to a street date in between April 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008.

As I posted in the HOF thread, additional nominations will matter. The five starlets with the greatest number of nominations will advance to the final voting round. In other words, if a certain starlet is nominated 10 times, she is much more likely to advance to the voting round relative to a girl who is only nominated 2 times. As a result you may want to disregard how other people are voting.

All members are encouraged to nominate two starlets for the shooting star award to help insure we have something to vote on. This is particularly important in years when there are few new starlets or a starlet has taken the industry by storm.

It is suggested that all members participating in the nomination process elaborate on why your "Shooting Star" nomination is deserving. If you "make the case" for your girl, you may persuade others to nominate her as well. It may also generate some interesting discussions.

Nominations will end on March 31, 2008. The final voting around will being on April 1st.

Here, I am going to leave the criteria the same. Although it is still difficult for us to determine when a starlet shot her first scene, it seems to be the best criteria for a "newbie" award. The street date window of three to four months later will insure that APHs who started in winter still have a chance of exposure before the vote.

I would like to nominate Jandi Lin and Kara Tai

While there has only been a handful of Jandi scenes released so far, I certainly consider her to be a shining light among the new Asian Porno Hotties on the scene this year. Her look is very unique - the short hair with loose curls, the gorgeous 'bedroom' eyes, and the tatoos/peircings which are a nice surprise - a sweetie-pie face, with a wild girl bod! I beleive her first scene was Year of the Whore released in July 07. With ANAL on the way, Jandi is my standout for the class of 07.

Kara Tai is also another gal who has really created a buzz this year. A tight lean physique, great skin (and I luuuuv the tan-lines) and a winning smile. Deatsheep, I second your nomination of Jandi Lin and Kara Tai for the APH shooting star award. Both model's have turned out some great performances this year and have opened up their backsides to some good cornholing!

Thanks for the helpful post Sheep. I agree with you about starlets that change their name. You can only be a true newbie to the industry once, no matter how many times your screen name changes.

Are there any other possibilities out there other than those listed by Sheep?
