As most of you probably heard by now, yesterday President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't get it. Obama accomplished nothing in this first two weeks of office (when the nominations were due) and some might say he still hasn't accomplished anything. I simply don't agree the award should be given to someone who made a bunch of campaign speeches about "hope" and supports diplomacy. It's absurd. I think that Obama should have refused to accept the award. If in fact, he does something in the future worthy of the award, fine -- give it to him then. Right now it should go to someone truly deserving.

I think it's more about the NPP voting panel making a statement about the US's past administration. I agree though, it doesn't make any sense.
1) Get a health care reform WITH public option (key word "option" which conservatives don't get) 2) Aggressively pass policies to combat global warming NOW, not by 2016 3) Get out of Iraq and Afghanistan... THEN give him the prize! |
