It Appears That Haley Paige is Dead!

It appears that starlet Haley Page may be dead! I use the word "appears" because so far, it has been difficult to verify, there are conflicting stories and others have expressed skepticism.

The information first appeared on a blog and later her Wiki page was updated to reflect her passing:

Maryam Haley [AKA Haley Paige] passed from this world in August of 2007 after a life wrought with sexual trauma at the tender age of 25. Her dream of becoming a psychologist was never realized. She leaves behind two loving parents.

However, since it is proving difficult to verify, the portion about her death was removed from the online encyclopedia. Someone alleged to be her father posted the following on his blog:

"Maryam was laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Brentwood, California, on August 31, 2007. Present were her parents, all of her aunts and uncles, most of her cousins, and a number of friends. Her uncle Paul Viramontes and his son Pablo, along with two…"

An unsigned person on Wiki, wrote the following: "I'm afraid that the news of her death is in fact real. Please see the family's photos of her funeral, which incidently in one of the pictures also verfies her Bahai upbringing. She left the porn industry a while back hence the fact there is no news of her death in print, but I'm sure it will get around." (09.27)






Self appointed saver of girls from the adult industry, Shelly Lubin thinks it is real.

I am extremely sad to discover today that porn actress Haley Paige died on Aug. 22, 2007. Please read about her tragic life of sexual trauma at Wikipedia. I hope those of you who are viewing porn realize that these actresses are humans who have been through years of trauma and abuse. Please stop viewing porn for the sake of women's lives. What if this girl was your sister, daughter or Mother?

Some have said the photo on the casket appears to have been "Photoshopped." Others claim to have an inside track and deny it is true. Skonker on ADT says, "They are said to be in Mexico, with someone else's rental car." "Zen Master 2007" on ADT writes:

My [un-named] mates in the Valley have pretty much debunked this item, as there is no death record, funeral record or newspaper obituary published under Haley's real name in the State of California. Given what she's endured, we should respect her decision to disappear for whatever the reason or necessity. Wherever she is, I for one wish her nothing but happiness in a new beginning. Haley Paige may be dead and gone, but I believe that the girl who gave her life lives on.

"Plus she had that weird drama not long ago with Chico Wang and before that Martin Del Toro.




I guess for now, everyone will have to make up their own mind about whether or not this is true. If it is true, it is a very sad ending for Haley. =(

Most people on XPT assume the cause of death was a heroin overdose or suicide. A few think Chico or Del Toro may have had something to do with it. Here's an excerpt from LIB from May of this year:

Luke: "How's Chico doing?" Jasmine Tame: "I don't know. I think he left the country. The funny part is he didn't tell me. He spaced himself out from other people." "We were friends but he kept his distance. I don't know why. Maybe he stays at home by himself and doesn't deal with things. He's happy now he has a girlfriend [Hailey Page] . He just wanted someone there all the time. I was there but not enough." Luke: "What happened?" Jasmine: "His girlfriend was abusing heroin. He spent so much money in trying to get her off. If true this is sad news, but there are reasons to be skeptical. That picture of her on the casket does looked photo shopped. A record of her death and burial should exist if her death is indeed true.

I actually do not think the picture on the casket looks doctored and I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying that.

MacKenzee Pierce posted a comment on Lubin's blog confirming it is true.

before you all make speculations as to why she died maybe you should get your facts stright.... she had left the biz in june, she was from what i know trying to get cleaned up and get stright again living with family and getting over a bad relationship problem with a director in the biz. yes this is very heart breaking i knew her personally.... but the biz is not to blame for her dealth or her mental state.... she had a lot alot of family problems growing up and a harsh family life.... such things i am not permitted to say out of respect. and out of respect for this awesome young woman dont make inaqurate speculations.... and no she wasnt christian if that answers any questions. again stop making it out to be that the biz did this to her. she had alot of abusive relatonshipos through out child hood and adult hood.... she died of heroin over dose. she was a good friend of mine and i hope to god you all can just let her and the memory of her rest in peace. thankx

In response to some mean, negative comments on The Bastardly Blog about her appearance at the 2006 AVN AEE show, in March of this year "Haley" responded as follows in comment #27:

Hi Mike! Hola Jorge! I know you both, don’t I? Yes, Haley lived in Chihuahua as a child. She’s a true bicultural product, and I hope she’s proud of it. And I entrusted her to Mike on her year-long journey down under. Then had to pay for her to come home when she needed to escape. Thanks for taking such good care of my baby, Mike! How’s it going, senorita Haley? (I’m the most important man in Haley’s life, and I hope she reads this.) Except for the bad story about your uncle, in which you said your parents looked the other way, you’ve managed to project your true sweet nature and loving heart. It’s a hell of a shock to see where you’ve gone, and though I don’t like it, I don’t condemn you for it. I do believe that you could have chosen a more wholesome outlet for your beauty and talents. I don’t think it’s too late to redirect your course. If you need any help or encouragement, you know where to find me.

September 16th:

Haley Paige passed from this life on August 21, 2007. In the company of Chico Wang. Who ya gonna blame?

September 19: Someone asked, "Kensabe? Are you certain of this? How do you know? I can’t find anything about that anwhere on the ‘net…" Her father responded:

So very certain. I’m her father. I buried her in Brentwood, California on August 30. There seems to be no word on her or Chico in the blogs. Anyone who knew her, I’d love to hear good stories of her; bad ones, too, I want to know more about her life in the last 3 years or so. Her mother and I (we’re divorced) did not know she was in the business until just a few weeks before her passing. We did not judge her nor condemn her for her chosen path. We love her deeply, and she knows we do, even in death. And to set the record straight: she was NOT molested by her uncle. There was an incident with him, and it ended right there. Her parents did NOT give her up to a nasty uncle for rent. She was very young at the time. We lived in Mexico, the uncle lived in California. After the one incident, we never left her alone with him, and we seldom saw him until he died of a liver disease. My daughter is indeed as sweet and loving as many of you say she is. Multiple sources have obtained confirmation that Haley has indeed passed. The cause of death is unknown, and it appears that Inkyo Hwang aka Anabolic director "Chico Wang" may be a suspect.

AVN writes:

KING CITY, Calif. - Maryam I. Haley, a.k.a. Haley Paige, who appeared in over 300 adult titles between 2002 and 2007, passed away August 21, according to the King City coroner's office. The cause of her death is still under investigation, awaiting the results of a toxicology report. Haley's body was released to a mortuary August 27. A spokesperson for the coroner's office said it is typical for toxicology reports to take between four and six weeks to be returned following an autopsy. Rumors of Haley's death began circulating in the adult industry in September. She had by most accounts vanished over the past two months, along with boyfriend Inkyo Volt Hwang, a.k.a. director Chico "Wanker" Wang. Hwang was arrested June 29 for allegedly beating and kidnapping Haley, but was released July 3 with no charges filed. The coroner's office spokesperson confirmed to AVN that Hwang was interviewed by the King City police several days after her death. Calls to the King City police department were not immediately returned. As to another circulated rumor that Haley died of a heroin overdose, the spokesperson for the coroner's office said she had no track marks that would indicate such a cause, but it was hypothetically possible if she smoked the substance. A longtime associate of Hwang's, Hung Lo, spoke to AVN and stressed that Hwang was good to Haley, and did everything he could to get her off of drugs. "That's what he wanted for her," Lo said. "He loved her."

"Charlie" on XPT writes: "I just spoke to the Coroner's Office in Monterey County, CA. Maryam I. Haley died on 8/22/07. The investigation is ongoing. I was told that this is NOT an overdose death."

His arrest generated a lot of press but I never heard that the charges were droped until I read about Haley.
