21Q+ WITH CHEYENNE SILVER (part two)
Interview date 01.17.04, Rancho Cordova, CA, Gold Club Centerfolds
[continued from part one]
Snowman: Now this is a thread, this is a hot thread, right now on RAME. It just popped up just the other day. It’s called, “Once They Go to Vivid, I Stop Watching.” And, I wonder if I could get your reaction to something like this. Especially now that you’re not working for Vivid, you know, as a contract person.
The person said, “What is it about the career path of beautiful women in porn? I’m simplifying things here, but here’s what I notice seems to happen. Women start off in gonzo…”
And actually, you did do that under “Wildcat”,
[continuing to quote from RAME post] “…. Does some great scenes. Goes to Vivid or some other company that specializes in features, suddenly turns into a lesbian, gets fake boobs and seems to become incredibly boring.”
Cheyenne: (*laughs*)
Snowman: [continuing the quote from RAME poster] “I’ve tried to watch some Vivid features, especially when I like the girl on the cover, but usually end up disappointed after watching her in some lame scene or bad camera angles, etc.” So, I’m wondering, how do you feel about something like that?
Cheyenne: Well I think, I think a lot of what happens is maybe the girls start getting burnt out on it. You know, you do so much and then it’s like you know, it starts being the same thing, and it’s not so exciting anymore. And that’s another reason I wanted to take a break away. Even with the mainstream stuff, if that weren’t happening and all that, and I did want to go back, I think I still would have taken the break, just to get away for awhile so that when I came back I was revived. Now I know if I were to go back and resign or sign with another company, or make my own productions, I would put 110 more percent than the last ones that were made -- because I’m revived. I’m re … you know …
Snowman: Rejuvenated.
Cheyenne: Rejuvenated, Yes. That energy is back and you know, it’s been awhile since I’ve done anything so sexually exciting and I mean, the personal stuff I’ve had in my life is sexually exciting, I can’t say it is not, but something about being in front of a camera is a real turn on to me. And so, you know, that might be one of the things. Another one is the lifestyle -- going up so fast. I mean, gonzo, you can make a lot of money but, with Vivid, or another large company, say you sign and your name grows really fast, or even girls who do the other big companies. Their name grows really fast. Then, maybe that kinda gets to their heads. I know for me, my scenes kinda toned down at the end. I can admit that because I was getting tired. I wanted something intimate maybe off camera. I wanted to take some time. I thought about resigning and dancing and making lots of money, but then I thought, well, it’s not gonna be that quality of work if I’m not full fledged enjoying it like before. And, you know, a lot of the stuff could also be, how the directors and everything gets you into it. I know my most en energetic scenes are with Chi Chi LaRue directing because he, she, (*laughs*) he-she, he gets really into it. Like he just talks through out the whole scene or yells, “Oh yes, do this, do this -- stop it, back up!” and it gets you really enthused for it, so him as a director as opposed to say, another one who directs all the dialog, and makes sure it’s all perfect, and then disappears for the scene …
"Shape of Sin" -- one of the Vivid features directed by Chi Chi LaRue starring Cheyenne.
Snowman: Would you be speaking of Paul Thomas?
Cheyenne: I’m not speaking of anyone in particular. I’m just saying …
Snowman: I’ve heard other girls say that.
Cheyenne: Oh ok. Well, it’s possible. But, I’m just saying, that could cause you to be burnt out. You know, there’s a lot of things. The chemistry maybe, ummmmm. I think that’s about it. I was trying to come up with different scenarios here and possibilities but I don’t know. Maybe it is just a mentality thing. Just because it’s said or something. It’s said, so let it be done, I don’t know. But … yeah.
Snowman: You know, it’s interesting that you mention that girls could get a big head from the stardom. I went to the AVN Adult Entertainment expo in Vegas just a few days ago -- by the way, did you go to that this year?
Cheyenne: No, no. I’ve been busy. I didn’t go this year or last year.
Snowman: OK, well, I was out there and that was my first time. I was really surprised at the degree of pandemonium, I mean just craziness at the Vivid booth. You know, after the fans were there. Now, not so much when the trade or just the press is there, but in the afternoon, after the fans got in, it just seemed like an extraordinary amount of just craziness going on at the Vivid booth and I didn’t really see anything …. I mean the Vivid girls are beautiful, no doubt, but I didn’t see anything much different at that booth than any of the other ones, but there was just this whole hype literally around it and …
Cheyenne: Yeah. Yeah. Well I think it did a big thing for them to have Jenna come on board with her projects and distributing through them. You know, I remember going to that show. I remember two years ago signing for eight days straight and both shows -- with Penthouse and then with Vivid.
Snowman: Did you experience that then, was it the same way?
Cheyenne: There was lines and you know, you could think “oh this is awesome, so many people love me” or whatever, but to me, it was sort of “oh my gosh -- it’s overwhelming”.
Snowman: Even I felt a little overwhelmed. Because Tera Patrick was there and it was just crazy.
Asian hottie Tera Patrick appearing at the Vivid booth at AEE 2004
Cheyenne: I’m not good around big crowds. I just get too overwhelmed and nervous and I remember the Hollywood City Walk -- it was really busy and just people walking and I got so overwhelmed I almost passed out. And so, it’s not my cup of tea really. I like smaller groups of fans coming in, not a line that goes for hours because you do get burned out and you get the same questions over and over. It’s fun to meet with them and do that but …
Snowman: It seems stressful. And it really did seem tiring to me. It seemed tiring for me just going around and doing these types of interviews and so forth. I couldn’t even imagine being a girl.
Cheyenne: Yeah. So, I can imagine girls getting burned out and just tired of it all and that mixing with the same thing. You know, they start in adult and get caught up in the money and they really enjoy it for awhile but they get caught up in the money and it’s like they are just doing it for a long time after that because they can’t downsize the lifestyle or can’t go downhill, so that happens a lot. But, like I said, I took a way out, I got out, for awhile just to regroup and it’s been nice. And I do think about it now and then, missing being on sets and that wild crazy sex. Oh yeah, I miss it. (*laughs*) I would just wait for either the right timing or wait to see what this other stuff that’s gonna happen too.
Snowman: Does dancing give you the same sort of ….
Cheyenne: Thrill?
Snowman: Yeah, thrill as being in the movies did?
Cheyenne: Ummmm. Hmmmmm. I dunno. I guess it’s exciting and it’s fun. I love to travel. I love to get to go to different places and it’s not the same thing in the sense of having an absolute great orgasm on a set you know, on camera. That’s a different excitement but this is definitely fun and it’s really rewarding financially and good publicity to get out -- get the website out there.
Snowman: What about for the ego though? Being at the Vivid booth, it would be annoying, but also it would be kinda flattering in one respect to have so much attention being put on you.
Cheyenne: Yeah. I think it’s flattering. I also, coming from a small town and being out alone at night and in nature so much, I appreciate that kind of more. I’m not saying I don’t like meeting fans and talking to them and getting to be known out there but I’m definitely the type of person who’s more quiet and solitude.
Snowman: Down to Earth?
Cheyenne: Solitude and reserved, than go out and party with everybody on the planet. So, it’s hard for me sometimes because I do think about that -- just quiet peacefulness. So I balance my life with that. I come out and do promotions -- really get out there and have fun with the shows -- last night was wild in there -- get out in the crowd and had a good time and then go home and spend a few weeks quiet and peaceful. So, I don’t get burned out. Yeah, I try to balance everything.
Snowman: OK. I have some hypothetical “If” questions for you. If you could grow the world’s most perfect specimen of a plant or flower, what would it be? Since you were into nature and everything, from your website, I thought maybe this was a good one for you.
Cheyenne: Plaint specimen?
Snowman: The world’s most perfect plant specimen -- plant or flower.
Cheyenne: (*yawns*) I’m sorry.
Snowman: Try to hold back the excitement!
Cheyenne: What do you mean? Like what qualities would it have? Would it have ….?
Snowman: If you could grow the best -- the world’s best -- whatever kind of plant or flower, what would it be? I guess -- well I don’t want to give you ideas -- but I guess most people would pick their favorite flower or plant. But, I guess it could be something else. I dunno. It’s an open ended question.
Cheyenne: OK. I haven’t heard a question like this, so I was … asking for an example.
Snowman: I ask unique questions in my interviews. (*laughs*)
Cheyenne: OK. Do you have one example of what someone else has said?
Snowman: I have a whole book of “If” questions, and I randomly pick ‘em and no other starlet has ever been asked this particular question. You’re the lucky one!
Cheyenne: Well my special plant would be very plentiful …
Snowman: No, no. The world’s most perfect specimen of a plant or flower. So, it’s an existing plant, but like, which one would you like to be the best? Like, the best rose grower or the best …
Cheyenne: It would be a plant that has a cure for cancer.
Snowman: Oh, so a utilitarian type plant? A plant that could do good. Not just a beautiful one.
Cheyenne: Yeah. It would have the qualities that could cure cancer or AIDS or something significant. As you know, my mom passed away of cancer, so that’s a strong subject to me. So to me, the ideal -- the world’s best plant, you know, would do that.
Snowman: That’s great.
Cheyenne: They’ve been fighting for a cure for God knows how long?
Snowman: See, that’s a wonderful answer. I was thinking like beauty. I wasn’t thinking about any kind of medical purpose at all, so that’s a good answer.
Cheyenne: It would be beautiful too, but that wouldn’t really matter when it’s ground down and used. (*laughs*)
Snowman: Alright. If you could go back in high school and relive one event exactly as it happened, what would you pick?
Cheyenne: [*pondering*] Ummmm … An event exactly as it happened. So what was my best event basically? Hmmmm. There’s a lot of them. Hmmmmm. (*laughs*) I would have to say …
Snowman: Something that you really enjoyed … but I don’t want to answer your questions for you.
Cheyenne: It would be … when I was a junior there was a guy that was a freshman that swore he was really in love with me and I didn’t necessarily believe him. I figured that it was just young puppy love kinda thing. Well what happened was I was with somebody else -- a high school sweetheart and we split up and there was a period of time we were apart -- well in that period of time I went over to this guy’s house and was his first time doing anything with a female and something about being with him … it was the chemistry with him .. And the thought of being with him, and just doing it with him and he had never done it -- really turned me on. And in that experience I had the most intense orgasm without even ever touching myself and that was amazing because to me I always had to doing something to get there. But with this, it was just like we melted into one and to this day that, no experience tops that sexually and that was in high school so it kinda goes along with the whole adult thing but sexuality.
Snowman: OK. That’s a good answer.
Cheyenne: Yeah. That one tied with one of the dances when we actually danced to a song, but that’s you know cutesy but this was really powerful.
Snowman: Now I kinda have the flip side of this question. If you could go back to high school and relive one even, as you wish it had been, what would it be?
Cheyenne: Mmmmm.
Snowman: So this one, you do get to change.
Cheyenne: Ok well. It ties into this other one because the reason I was so into this person and realizing the feelings he had for me was around this time in life my horse got sick and he was sick for four days and then he died with his head in my lap. It was very dramatic for me, it was my best friend, this horse. And this guy was there for me, and I remember I would stay out with the horse and sleep in the grass and sun while the horse was there. He gave me his jacket and stuff. And so it was around the same time that we hooked up and got together. But what I would have changed is that, us know … (*sigh*) I would have changed that experience and my horse would have lived longer. (*laughs*) But, I’m trying to think … you all will have to cut this up cause I’ve kinda gone back and forth between a few different ideas with the horse still being alive. But, I had, not long before I was with him, I had been with one of the football players. He kinda pressured me into going forward and having sex for my first time and I kinda regret that because he didn’t really care about me. He had a girlfriend even and it was just like pretty … you know … pretty dull compared to the moment I had with him so I would have changed the fact that I had done anything and I would have waited so that that moment would have been the both of us for the first time. That’s what I would have changed. (*laughs*) And, the horse would still be alive! (*laughs)
Snowman: Alright. OK. If you were to select a moment that you were convinced that an angel was watching over you, when would it have been?
Cheyenne: Ohhhhhh. Let’s see, there’s been a few of those. It’s like I have nine lives or something. Ummmm … I would say it was shortly after my mom passed away. A friend of mine -- I had her ashes -- and a friend of mine was going out to Venezuela, some islands off the coast of Venezuela. And you know, I thought about it and we decided -- I gave her a little jar of my mom’s ashes to take out there, because I wanted … she loved just different places and stuff, so I figured it would be neat to have it everywhere. Put some here and there, and just neat places that meant a lot. And, I figured she would have a great time on one of these islands. So she went out and she made her trip a lot longer than … another week longer. And she searched out the perfect place. To make a long story short, she gets off the boat on this island after she found a native guy to take her to it, and on top of the island was an old burial ground -- very ancient. And he took her up there and it was beautiful place. But when she stepped off the boat, she found a heart shaped rock on the ground and when she called me and told me this -- this all happened right after she got back -- I mean, right after she got back, she called and told me all this had happened. And I remember I was with my daughter out at the … we were going to the pumpkin patch, with the class. And it was a warm sunny day and the kids already kinda went off with their teacher and I was still by the truck. And, she was telling me this and I was just pretty much in tears because I never told her. Well let me step back real quick. When she was telling me that she stepped off the boat and found the heart shaped rock, she said she found it in and it felt like my Mom had put it there for her and she was kinda laughing at her. And my Mom was very, you know, very nice person. Very sweet. But she had a little sense of humor. You know, she was funny. And so anyway, when she was calling me and telling me this story, I was in tears because I told her, I never told anyone that my Mom collected heart shaped rocks.
Snowman: Ohhhhhh.
Cheyenne: And that was very much like her. You know the thing about her laughing at her. I don’t know if it was for her going to so many different islands for five days, seven days trying to find the perfect one, or I’m not sure what that humor was about, but it was very real to me that her spirit was there and you know, an angel. And I just felt her warmth and it was right about that time that happened that I was living in Ohio where my Mom grew up and I went to the church where she played her music. She played the organ and stuff and I felt her there. So … (*laughs*) …. That’s a long, kinda drawn out version but you can make it …
Snowman: No, that’s nice.
Cheyenne: Yeah. Very nice. So. Another time I was going about 114 mph down the highway up toward Mammoth on a Harley Davidson at night and getting pulled over. And the guy did not write us a ticket. 114 mph!
Snowman: I thought you said you were the quiet type who liked to stay at home? And quiet evenings? (*laughs*)
Cheyenne: Well … I was! But a friend of mine had a bike and they were going on a trip and I decided to go camping with them. Camping -- you throw the word camping in and I’ll do it!
Snowman: (*laughs)
Cheyenne: But … we got pulled over and the guy was like “You know there’s alcohol all over out here.” And it kinda felt like we were pretty protected because if we had had alcohol, we would have just been dead. Anyway, there’s a choice there. You can use the mushy one, or the more exciting version.
Snowman: OK. Well, here’s a couple of lighter hearted ones. If you were asked at what age a person is ready to have sexual intercourse, how would you answer? And I know from reading your biography, your first experience was at a rather young age.
Cheyenne: Ummm. I would say when they start wondering about it, and obviously you masturbate from a lot younger age than when you really get curious about the opposite sex. But it’s not at that point when they necessarily start wondering. But I think they should at least have a couple loves first. You know, be in love and date someone maybe once or twice. Because I know if I had not been so anxious to have the experience and just wait a little longer, I was with somebody for five years shortly after that. And it would have been great to be in an experience with him. Or with the other guy who was in love with me and we could have shared that experience together. So it’s when they start becoming very curious and want that experience for themselves, but I think they should at least hold back their anticipation and wait for the right time when at least, even if it never works out with the person they’re with, that they are really in love with or something, at least at that time they are in love and its’ not just somebody taking advantage of them.
Snowman: That would sound a little bit older.
Cheyenne: Well, it varies for every person. I mean because I started dating and was really in love with this guy … I was with him from 13 to 18. So I could have still had my experience at 13, but if I had just waited a little longer, a few months later, I wouldn’t have been with the football player that didn’t care, couldn’t care less. I would have been with someone that stayed with me for five years and had a daughter with me.
Snowman: So, it’s possible then, you think to be in love at age 13?
Cheyenne: Yeah. I very much loved him. And I was monogamous with him that whole time. Like I said, there was a few times we split up and that’s when I was with that other person just for the experience to see if maybe I should move on, but you know, that never really bothered him. He understood that … well, we weren’t together. So….
Snowman: Sure. Alright. If one food for you could be an aphrodisiac, what food would you select?
Cheyenne: I’m gonna go back real quick. I think the
reason it’s possible to be in love at 13, or even younger, is everybody’s got
their different age mentality. Some people, maybe it’s even the ancient soul
thing that carries on. So, that’s why I think it’s very do-able. And I’ve been
told, people say that they think I have a very old soul and so the feeling might
be stronger and more mature. OK, so one food … aphrodisiac … what would it be?
Snowman: Right.
Cheyenne: Uhhhhh. So it’s basically asking what a really enjoyable food to me is. Ummm.
Snowman: It’s open ended. (*laughs*)
Cheyenne: Yep. Fine chocolate.
Snowman: Chocolate?
Cheyenne: Fine chocolate. Very fine chocolate.
Snowman: Like what’s an example?
Cheyenne: See’s Truffles are very good. And I’ve had some sorts of fine Switzerland chocolates or you know, European chocolates. That makes a very good aphrodisiac. Could I guess.
Snowman: OK. I got a couple of just quick “favorites” questions.
Cheyenne: OK.
Snowman: What’s your favorite color?
Cheyenne: Ummmmm. Royal purple. Just like a deep dark royalty color of purple.
Snowman: OK. A little gloomy.
Cheyenne: Gloomy?
Snowman: A little bit.
Cheyenne: No. It’s the color of royalty I think. All my pillowcases are that … it’s either that or a blue gray. And I like that just because my eyes are blue gray but …
Snowman: Favorite fast food?
Cheyenne: I like the Egg McMuffins. (*laughs*)
Snowman: OK. Alright. Favorite beverage?
Cheyenne: Water.
Snowman: Water? Bottled water?
Cheyenne: It’s has to be bottled. Bottle water or herbal tea. I have a drawer full of about sixty herbal teas. So you could say herbal tea.
Snowman: Alright. Favorite ice cream flavor?
Cheyenne: Green tea ice cream.
Snowman: Favorite type of music?
Cheyenne: A little bit of everything.
Snowman: Favorite Holiday?
Cheyenne: Ummmm … wow. That kind goes back with my Mom. Halloween. She spent a lot of time making our costumes elaborate. They always won 1st place so that’s memorable to me.
Snowman: Favorite TV Show?
Cheyenne: Quantum Leap. (*giggles*)
Snowman: Favorite clothing store?
Cheyenne: Ummmm … Target. (*laughs*) No … no… I’m trying to think. I’m not a big clothes shopper so… You know I would say, with the horses and everything, I wear a lot of regular stuff, like Boot Barn or something. Very western.
Snowman: Oh Ok. Western clothes. Uh … favorite scent?
Cheyenne: Jasmine maybe? Or lavender.
Snowman: OK. And the last one is, favorite board game?
Cheyenne: Ummmm. Does it have to be a board game or dice game? Well, chess, errr chess.
Snowman: Chess? OK. Alright, well thanks very much for talking with us here today.
Cheyenne: Sure. Not a problem.
Snowman: I wish you the best of luck in 2004 and best of luck with the mainstream movie stuff. I hope it works out well for you.
Cheyenne: Thank you. Me too.
