PROBLEM ADULT DVDS
Unfortunately, it seems that a fairly high number of adult DVD discs are defective or problematic. I am surprised and disappointed at this. For years I have purchased music and software CDs without any trouble whatsoever. In addition, I have very few problems playing mainstream releases, including rentals, on my player. It appears to me that the problems with DVD discs are limited mainly to the adult industry.
To help inform the porn consumer and encourage adult studios to pay attention to this issues and correct them, I have created a listing of Adult DVDs that I or others have experienced technical problems with.
Another type of "problem" adult DVD customers encounter has to do with the content of a feature. The most common content issue occurs when a favorite scene is edited, or deleted entirely from the feature. For obvious reasons, this is also upsetting to consumers. I have also created a list of reported content issues.
Finally, I have begun to compile a list of DVDs with watermarks, which I and many other find to be an obnoxious form of advertising.
Because this page was becoming quite lengthy, I have split the "Problem DVD List" into three separate parts.

I discovered that there was a person
keeping a similar "problem dvd" list for mainstream releases. I
know all of you raincoaters can't be watching porn all of the
time, so here's the link to that list on the DVD
Review Film Vault Site.
For additions, solutions or other comments regarding this list, send an email to snowman@raincoatreviews.com or even better, post a message in the Problem DVD Discussion Forum. If you are reporting a problem, please include a brief description of the problem and your model DVD player. If you have contacted the publisher and/or retailer, please forward the responses.
Please note: unless the person reporting the problem is myself, these problems have not been verified in any way. However, adult DVD producers are welcome to send screener copies of discs and I will be happy to test it on my own hardware and report the results (and a review) here. For more information on submissions, see the "About" page.
