PROBLEM ADULT DVDS

Below is a listing of Adult DVDs that I or others have experienced technical problems with. Please note that inclusion on this list does not conclusively mean that the disc will not play on your particular hardware. Indeed, in some instances below, the same person reporting the problem confirmed that the disc worked OK in another player. I personally have purchased numerous discs that would not play, or even load, in my Sanyo DWM-360 deck and then play flawlessly in my Sony S-560D. Your mileage may vary.

Ultimately, I think porn producers need to produce discs that are going to play in everyone's player. There are a ton of cheaper players being sold out there by Sanyo, GE, Samsung etc. -- and I think it is reasonable to expect that adult discs will be compatible with them. A consumer should not have to purchase a more expensive model in order to avoid problems with adult discs. If the cheaper players can handle mainstream movies, they should be able to handle porn - which is much more basic.

Technical Glitches

30 Men For Sandy, Caballero - Reported to have a chapter stop problem. The viewer reports that he cannot backwards search past a chapter stop. He also alleges that other Caballero titles may suffer from the same glitch. DVD Player unknown. Reported by Diesel on Adult DVD Talk, Talking Porn Forum, 09.18.00.

8 to 4, Caballero - Reported to have a chapter stop problem. The viewer reports that he cannot backwards search past a chapter stop on his (mid line) Panasonic DVD unit. Also, WinVid would not play the disc correctly on his computer. Finally the end credits are very "short." Reported by Diesel via email. 04.18.01.

Adam & Eve Titles (various) , Adam & Eve - Reported to cause an RCA stand alone player to "jump to the next scene/chapter a few minutes before the current scene/chapter ends." This problem occurs with no interaction (i.e. the viewer's hands are off the remote). When the viewer presses the chapter back button, the DVD allegedly goes back to spot it jumped from and finishes the scene/chapter as normal Viewer experienced this problem with the following titles: A Witches Tale, A Midsummer Night's Cream, and Taboo of Tarot. Update! ImageKat from ImageWarror, the company who does the multimedia for the Adam & Eve Premium Collection, suggests this is a "player issue". According to ImageKat, some lasers have tendency to pick up index points on the disc before they are supposed to and this can cause the skip ahead problem." ImageKat also adds that "If your machinery has been moved around a lot, set down harder than normal dropped or used for long periods of time over the years the lasers have tendency to dull and also be out of alignment, thus mistracking and the such." ImageKat states that he tests out discs on a Sony player and an budget priced Oritron. Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum), 02.13.01, 02.15.01, 02.16.01.

Update! Viewer reports that "every single Adam & Eve" disc he rented will not play on his Toshiba DVD Player. The viewer contacted Toshiba and was told that it is because of the "computer friendly" software they put on the disc. He says he tried about ten different titles but only mentioned one by name, "A Witches Tail." DVD Player Toshiba SD-3109 from 11/99 with latest firmware (v3.0). Another person (Dumblond) chimed in and stated that she also has problems with Adam & Eve (and many other discs) on her Toshiba SD2200. Response Tricia Devereaux of Elegant Angel stated that she has received a lot of complaints about 1999 Toshiba models (1399, 2199 etc.). Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum), 07.11.01.

American Bukkake Two, Legend - Freezes on Menu. Severe blocking renders feature unwatchable. Appears to load and play normally occasionally, but then freezes about 11 minutes into Envy's scene and never recovers. Unable to skip to other scenes on the disc. DVD player Sanyo DWM-360. Reported by Snowman, 07.01.00. Contacted J.M. Productions and Legend on 07.01.00. Response received on 07.02.00 from Jeff Steward at J.M. Productions: "thats what you get when you buy on e-bay. i have never had a problem with any of my dvds. send it back and ask for your money back, then go to my site and buy a good copy. www.jerkoffzone.com."

Update! I checked out Jeff's site on 07.05.00 and discovered that Jeff's asking price for a single dvd was $29.99. On eBay, I won the disk for $8.00. I contacted the eBay seller (flyingsquid@webtv.com) as Jeff suggested. As it turns out Flyingsquid is an adult distributor himself, and he assured me that he gets his product through the same distributor as J.M. Productions does -- Legend Video. In fact, he represented to me that he probably spends $250,000 per year with that company. Furthermore, he was irked that Mr. Steward would suggest there is ANY difference between the product.

Update! Flyingsquid sent me another factory sealed copy of American Bukkake Two and I experienced the exact same problems. To date, I have never been able to view more than 10 minutes of the film on my DVD player. (07.20.00).

Update! I purchased a more expensive DVD player -- a Sony S560-D, and the disc played fine. I was having problems playing other Legend discs with the Sanyo model, so there appears to be an incompatibility there. The other (strong) possibility is that the Sony model has better error correction. I understand that it has enhanced laser tracking technology to handle troublesome discs. (07.20.2000)

Anal Cuties of Chinatown 2, Rosebud / Pleasure - This disc did not load on my Sony S560-D stand alone player. It spins around for about 30 seconds and then the DVD players reports "No Disc". Five Star DVD agreed to send out another copy. Stay tuned for more details. Reported by Snowman. 04.25.02.

Update! I sent an e-mail to Pleasure Productions on 04.28.02 and I am awaiting a reply.

Update! I received a second copy of the DVD and it suffers from the exact same problem as the first. Seems like there may be a mastering problem. Still no reply from Pleasure. 05.04.02.

Ass Collector (The), Evil Angel - Viewer reports that the disc has a variety of problems on his stand alone DVD player. "It freezes, pixillates, and drops to black and refuses to play in parts." Two other Evil Angel customers reported similar problems. M. Lyons stated this happens with his stand alone RCA player. Flash remarked that he also has pixalation trouble and freezing screens at times using his JVC-XV511 although they play fine in his Play Station 2. Reported by Mark, M. Response posted on 11.30.02 from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel: Tricia stated she is not sure if it is authoring or replication problem and said two copies of the disc worked OK on her players. She promised to do more testing.

Backstage Sluts 2, Zane - Reported to play for fifty six minutes (only two sex scenes) on a 1998 Toshiba SD3006 stand alone player. The movie should be about two hours. Reported by Torris on Adult DVD Talk, Talking Porn Forum, August 03, 2000.

Update! Over a year later, another viewer confirmed this problem. However, he states that by "raking around in the various chapters and my DVD software eventually came up with a bigger list of chapters during the interview footage, thus permitting access to scenes that are skipped over when playing the movie from the start." As a result, it appears this is more of a technical glitch rather than a content issue. Reported by Gabriel Ninel on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 11.25.01.

Big Tit Brotha Lovers, Exquisite Pleasures - Viewer reports that the second scene appears to have a glitch which renders it unviewable. "It starts with two guys talking about a home theater system and then jumps to scene three." Problem duplicated on laptop DVD player, Sony standalone and Memorex standalone. Reported by Roger T. Pipe on Adult DVD Talk, Talking Porn Forum, July 11, 2003.

Buttman Titles (various), Evil Angel, - Poor picture quality with Version 1 of these discs.

Solution from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel: "[Our redone] Evil Angels DVDs are in stock (finally), including Buttman titles. To exchange your title if you still have the first version, please contact BlueDoor.com or write them at ea@bluedoor.com. They will exchange your DVD regardless who you purchased it from. This includes: Buttman in Budapest, Buttman's Big Butt Euro Babes, Buttman's Big Tit Adventure, and Buttman's British Extremely Big Tit Adv. DVDs. The new versions have a commentary from John Stagliano, a fetish menu, photo gallery, and a biography of John. Plus, the picture looks about 10 times better. Buttman's Anal Show (new dual 9 version), Evil Angel - Reported to have a variety of problems including: chapter stop difficulties (you cannot reverse search past the beginning of a chapter stop - the movie freezes then goes into Play mode), freeze frame pauses between chapters, and severe pixellation in the animated chapter selection menus. DVD players tested were a "high end" Sony model and "mid level" Panasonic model. Reported by Diesel on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 07.25.00.

Response posted on 07.25.00 from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel: "I have mentioned all of these things to my authoring company. The pixellation will get better after a few more DVDs. They needed to get better video capturing software, which has been ordered. As for the reverse search and freeze frame issues, I have asked them to look into it."

Buttman's Big Butt Euro Babes (new dual 9 version), Evil Angel - Reported not to play at all. DVD player Toshiba 2200. Reported by Sonic on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 06.12.00.

Here's a solution to a problem that no one reported involving the same title:

Solution from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel: "If any owner of a Toshiba DVD player (and the problem seems to be with the 2109 and 2200 players - the 2109 has been discontinued by the way) has problems hearing audio with any DVD disc, they can phone customer service at Toshiba (800-631-3811) and they will be directed to the nearest Toshiba service center. They made it clear to me that it is NOT a hardware problem with them, nor is it a problem with my authoring company. It is a COMPATIBILITY problem between the two. At any rate, if the owner of the player wants to take the time to go to the service center, it is a FREE upgrade. I am trying to get the Toshiba Corporate Office to issue a letter to me that I can use as a press release on this subject. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me." Buttman's Ultimate Workout (new dual 9 version), Evil Angel - Reported not to play at all. DVD player Toshiba 2200. Reported by Sonic on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 06.13.00.

Buttman in Budapest (new dual 9 version), Evil Angel - Reported not to play at all. DVD player Toshiba 2200. However "looks nice" on his computer dvdrom drive. Reported by Sonic on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 06.23.00.

Chasing Stacey, VCA - Reported not to mount on a Powerbook. Menu options and branching will does not work on viewer's standalone DVD player either. DVD player Apex. Reported by Steve on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 07.02.00.

Solution from Wit, from VCA on Adult DVD Talk: "The problem you describe is specific to your computer and can be remedied... we went to great lengths to ensure its compatibility and put it through rigorous testing. [T]he fix is usually simple. Visit your DVD-ROM drive manufacturer on the web and install the latest drivers for your player." Wit also contacted me via email on 07/05/00 and assured me the problem is with the persons DVD-ROM drive and not the disc. No word yet from Steve on whether or not this helped.

Update! Steve replies that his Powerbook is using hardware DVD decoding -- not software, so updated drivers is not an option. He is also using the latest version of the operating system (9.0.4).

Update! On 07.15.2000, Drew Black on Adult DVD Talk noticed some non-standard responses from his remote control while using this disc. He reports that he cannot use the fast forward and rewind options during the "Chasing" part of the disc. Also, in "Fantasex" mode the menu button doesn't work -- "Menu" reports the segment currently playing. "Title" brings back the main menu. (Talkin' Porn forum). Response posted on 07/20/00 from Wit at VCA. "Features, not bugs. In order to accommodate many of the advanced features of DVD, we actually reprogrammed some of the buttons. We tried to cover these anomalies on the "About This DVD" section. For example. "About Fantasex" alerts you to use the TITLE button to exit "FantaSex." This was done to accommodate, "Advanced Play". Using the Menu button from most players removes the on-screen interface, so you can use the remote key-pad and have Stacy full-Screen, with nothing obscuring the action. The Fwd and skip functions were turned off to accommodate the game play, which as Drew noted changes, depending on your actions. Fwd and Skip would have disrupted the game sequencing. Sorry for any confusion, we will try to make these anomalies clearer on future titles."

Cherry Popppers - The College Years #12, Zane - I experienced a serious problem using the Chapter commands on this disc. If I attempted to skip to the next chapter or previous chapter the picture locked up, pixelated, and then started to look as if it was melting. However, if I pressed "stop" and then "play" again, the movie played OK from the point where it should have. The disc played normally if I did not use the chapter commands. Thom Burr reported a much more serious problem with this disc. Thom reports that the disc would not play whatsoever past 21 minutes. He says the DVD "just freezes at about minute 21. No warning, no weird pixel effects or bars or whatnot. Just a totally frozen screen." Thom returned the disc and a second copy had exactly the same problem. DVD Players: Cheap colorful Koss player from Target (Snowman). Thom Burr's player is unknown. Reported by Snowman on 09.21.02 and Thom Burr on RAME on 08.31.01.

Colorblind 2, Vivid Raw - A consumer reports that the disc displays a "green block" on the bottom half the screen where the menu is. The "green block" prevents him from accessing any of the menu items. This problem was evident on two Phillips DVD players, model dvd940 and dvd420at. Multiple copies were tested in the Phillips players. When the viewer tried to view the disc in his DVD-ROM player, the disc would not load at all. The exact DVD-ROM model is unknown, but it was a Compaq Presario OEM model. Reported by Blake via email on 08.13.00.

Update! On my own players, Colorblind 2 does not exhibit the "green block" problem (Sanyo DWM-360 and Sony S560-D). However, when viewed on the Sanyo player, it did exhibit some occasional, but annoying pixelization problems. So far, I have not noticed the problem with the Sony deck. Updated by Snowman on 08.16.00

Designer Bodies, Wave (Vivid) - Reported to have some "minor" visual defects. Alleged to have "severe distortion" at the bottom of the picture in the form of a "transparent noise bar." The person reporting this problem notes that this distortion is most likely to show up if you watch the disc on your computer, due to overscanning by television sets to mask the flaw. DVD players: mid level Panasonic, high end Sony and computer DVD-Rom player with WinVid DVD 2000. Submitted by Diesel in e-mail on 03.25.01.

Dog Walker, Evil Angel - Reported not to play at all. Spins "helplessly" and reports a Disc Error. DVD player Toshiba SD1200. Multiple copies were tested in the Toshiba player. Discs played OK on older Panasonic and Panasonic models. Reported by Saki on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 06.15.00.

Elegant Angel Titles (Various), Elegant Angel - Some older pressings of various Elegant Angel titles are reported to have sound sync problems. That is, the audio track does not match up properly with the video -- the sound is either a second too early or a second too late. A complete list of titles with this problem is not available at this time. Some of the discs reported to have a problem include: Chloe's I Came, Did You, Big Babies of Budapest #04, and Sodomania Slop Shots #01 and #02. Solution from Mitzi at Elegant Angel: "...we did have problems with our first DVD's that we released, but there were only a few and they were fixed as soon as we found out the problems, and re-released. So if anyone has a problem, they can send it back to us and we will replace it for free." Mitzi also invited customers to contact her about any other problems with Elegant Angel DVDs and promised to take care of the problem. Posted on Snowman's Problem DVD Discussion Forum on 01.03.01. Euro Angels 3, Evil Angel - Viewer reports that this title will not play on his Xbox. However, the title does play OK on his standalone Panasonic DVD player and using PowerDVD on his computer. He reports that other discs play OK in the Xbox. Reported by Maximum Booty on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 10.17.02.

Response from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel on 10.17.02 in the same forum. "Unfortunately, not all DVD players are the same specs, so it's hard for us to figure out exactly what's going on in each situation. We had problems with PS2 for awhile too, but those seem to have gone away."

European Bukkake 3, Unknown publisher - Reported to be unplayable on a Toshiba stand alone unit model 2050. According to a the customer the Toshiba unit readout indicates a "check disc error". The same DVD plays OK in another on a Panasonic DVD player (model A112U). Reported by leeja@execpc.com via email on 02.17.01.

Flesh Hunter 2, Evil Angel - Multiple viewers on AdultDVDTalk reported problems with this disc. RonK says that it does not play all the way to the end and he has trouble accessing the beginning. His play reports a dirty or defective disc. Wally reports general playback problems -- his player says "disc error." He reports sometimes it loads and "Plays" but there is no picture. Bill Broderick reports that he had many problems with the last scene featuring Alexa Rae. One two of his standalone players, he says there was lots of pixalization and lock ups (Panasonic RP56 and Toshiba 5109). However on his Pioneer 727 Mega Changer, he reports the disc played fine. BigMike reports that the disc played OK until the last chapter, where the screen "pixelated and then stopped." He tested it in his other player, and discovered the disc froze during Jeannie Rivers' scene. BigMike has a computer DVD-Rom drive and Zenith standalone. A few viewers (AnalFan and Asmodeus) report that the disc works OK in their Sony players. Asmodeus also reports that it worked OK in his computer drive. Response posted on 03.29.02 from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel: Tricia reports that Evil Angel did test "many" copies on four different DVD players plus on her computer using WinDVD at home. She states that the disc worked fine on 3 players and with WinDVD, but a Panasonic player "which is usually flawless would not load the discs at all." She states that the matter is being investigated.

Solution posted on 03.28.03 from Tricia Devereaux at Evil Angel: Tricia confirmed that there was a problem with the replication company and that Evil Angel no longer uses them. She stated that there is a new batch of this title in house so that customers can exchange the disc if they are having problems.

Gangbang Girl #13, Anabolic - Reported not to play at all!. According to a viewer, the player tries to read the disc a few times and then a message appears saying it doesn't recognize this type of disc. Panasonic A160 R2 UK. The same viewer also reports it does not play on a "multiregion hacked" Sony 336. Reported by Lazenby on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 04.17.01.

Girls on Fire, VCX - Reported to have very poor picture quality. According to a viewer, "The DVD looks like it was mastered from an edited VHS rental tape." DVD player unknown. Reported by Diesel on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 09.18.00.

Gluteus to the Maximus, Seymore Butts - I experienced some audio problems when attempting to play this disc on my computer using PowerDVD 4.0 and Windows XP. The glitch seemed like an audio buffer problem, where only portions of the soundtrack were "tracking" properly. The result was a broken up, water soundtrack on my computer. Closing open applications and a clean boot helped, but did not entirely solve the problem. Also, upon loading from the tray, a box pops up and says this disc is "PC friendly" and asks if I want to install unidentified software. However, the installation software and/or software appears to be incompatible with some installations of Windows XP. The install bombs with a message that said, "This file system is unsuitable for Windows and DOS programs". I converted my hard drive to NTFS and I suspect this is the problem. I did not experience these problems with the disc on my standalone Sony Player. Everything was fine on the normal TV. DVD drive Hitachi GD-7500. Reported by Snowman on 03.30.02.

Imma Youjo Volume 1, NuTech - Reported to be mastered improperly so that the subtitles do not work. As a result the disc can only heard in Japanese. A bad press run at the duplicator is believed to be the cause of the trouble. The bad run is believed to affect mainly the discs that were included in the box set. NuTech was unhelpful and referred the customers back to the retailer. The others in the box set are reported to work fine. Replacement copies are expected to be pressed soon. DVD players unknown. Internal Affairs, Fallen Angel Entertainment - In his review for this disc, Den reports that the audio track may have a problem. He was only able to hear the music soundtrack, not the dialog or other sounds. DVD player unknown. Reported by Den on CAVR 02.19.01.

Jack & Jill, Wicked Pictures - Viewer reports that the "All Access" behind the scenes segment "choked" a minute in and would not play beyond that point. DVD player Pioneer F727 300 Disc Changer. Reported by ObiBong on AdultDVDTalk (Talkin' Porn Forum) 12.25.02.

Response & Solution from David Crawford at Wicked Pictures on 12.26.02 in the same forum. "Yes there are some 500 pieces out there that are defective. We had a formal recall and if you have a bad one we will replace it free of charge. E-mail me at david@wickedpictures.com and I will hook ya up."

Kelly's Way to Love, Evil Angel - Viewer reports that this title will not play on his Xbox. However, the title does play OK on his standalone Panasonic DVD player and using PowerDVD on his computer. He reports that other discs play OK in the Xbox. Reported by Maximum Booty on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 10.17.02.

Leud Conduct 5, Anabolic - Viewer reports that the beginning of this disc would not play on his set top system. DVD player Toshiba 3109. Reported by Sonic on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 04.17.01.

Leud Conduct 8, Anabolic - Viewer reports that the feature side of this disc would no go beyond the "basic loading screen." He could not see the FBI warning, credits, or any part of the movie. His player would not recognize the disc. The flip side of the disc, with previews worked fine. He noted that other discs from Anabolic worked OK on the same player. DVD player unknown RCA model. Live Bait Two, Seconds Anyone?, Pleasure Productions - Reported to freeze on the table of contents by two individuals. eBay (Power) seller declined to sell it to me after I won the auction, so I could not confirm the problem. Reported by Sexe2 on eBay. DVD players - unknown. Contacted Pleasure Productions 07/01/00. Response received: None to date.

Update! Good news! I ordered the disc from another seller on eBay and tested it on my Sony S560-D player. It appears to work fine and does not exhibit the problems described by Sexe2 on my player. Reported by Snowman on 09.09.2000.

Max World #11, Legend - Disc would not load 9 out of 10 times on Sanyo DWM-360. After it finally loads, severe blocking and pixalization problems. Also, could not use fast search modes or chapter searches. Picture problems improved 2/3 of the way through the disc. Note -- on Sony S560-D player, disc worked properly in all respects. Based on trouble with several DVDs, it appears that Legend titles are sometimes incompatible with the Sanyo DVD player from Wal-Mart. Alternatively, the Sony player simply handles errors better. Millennium, Sin City, - Early pressings are reported to have a technical glitch whereby the viewer cannot watch scene three during normal playback. At the end of scene two the movie pauses and then jumps back to the beginning of the disc again. In order to see scene three, one must go through the main menu. Also, the movie is alleged to appear distorted, "like a fun house mirror" due to the way it was formatted to fit the screen. The distortion makes everyone look taller and slimmer than real life. The person reporting the problems says that according to Sin City the problems have been corrected, but this has not been verified. Oral Consumption #01, Anabolic - Reported not to play at all. DVD player Sony DVPS500D. Consumer reports that all the following message is displayed on the lower right hand side of his television when he tries to play the disc: C:13:00. The flip side of the disc containing trailers works OK. Also other Anabolic titles did not exhibit this problem. Submitted by Sail Cutter via email on 09.20.00.

Update! Sail Cutter reports that he tried the disc on a friend's computer DVD-ROM drive and the disc worked. The DVD-Rom drive model is unknown. Submitted by Sail Cutter via email on 09.20.00.

Update! Torris reports that he has the same "check disc" trouble with the disc using a Toshiba DVD Player. Reported by Torris on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 10.01.00.

Update! Sail Cutter reports that he obtained a replacement disc, and the replacement disc works properly. Submitted by Sail Cutter via email on 12.12.00.

Planet Max #02, Legend - I experienced a problem viewing this disc on my computer when it gets to the end of Chapter 19. Instead of advancing to Chapter 20, it repeats Chapter 19 again. WinDVD and Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-7500. Not yet tested on stand alone player. Reported by Snowman on 04.18.01.

Pink Eye #03, Notorious - Viewer reports that this title has audio synch problems. He claims the audio track is off by about five seconds. "The actors mouth moves and 5 seconds later you hear what was said." DVD player unknown. Reported by Pistol Pete on RAME (05.26.03).

Private Titles (Various), Private - Multiple Private DVDs are alleged to have no sound on some players. Multiple viewers experienced problems with these titles, African Dream, Sex Shot, Indecency 1 and 2, and the remastered versions of Cumshot Deluxe, Fatal Orchid, Pyramid, and Tatiana. DVD Models involved include Toshiba 2109 (confirmed by multiple viewers) and an unknown Sony model. Torris, reports that Sex Shot worked OK in his Panasonic player, but not an unspecified Sony model.

Response from jb0911 who is believed to be affiliated with Private in the USA stated that alerted the technical department in Europe about the problems and randomly would pull some copies off the shelf to try and determine if the problem was limited to one batch or a glitch inherent in the mastering. This was on 05.01.2000 and I did not see any further responses. Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum).

Solution from Brett who is a big Private fan and experienced the problem on his Tosbiba 2109. Brett noticed that the discs play fine (with sound) on his computer DVD-ROM drive. He states that the silent discs have no Dolby digital track, rather he says they are encoded as MPEG audio (perhaps to save space). He believes that the player passes this MPEG audio digitally to the receiver which does not support this type of encoding and the result is no audio output. He speculates that the problem may only show up on newer Private titles coupled with Dolby digital receivers. A portable DVD player or PC DVD player "passes analog audio" and will not exhibit the problem. He suggests this simple workaround. Enter into the audio setup menu on the DVD player and change the audio outputs from digital bitstream to stereo analog. Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum), 05.03.2000.

Red Light District (Various Titles), Red Light District - Havish reports problems with various Red Light District Titles including Throat Gaggers, Cum Swapping Sluts, Just Over 18, and Breakin' 'Em. Throat Gaggers and Cum Swapping Sluts allegedly stop after the FBI Warning. Havish reports that once the problem occurs, you cannot even use the "Stop" button, the viewer must eject the disc. He further reports that Just Over Eighteen mostly plays well, but for a "few seconds [the picture] breaks up..." As for Breakin' 'Em, he claims it does not play properly when the disc gets warm. Solution from David Luger at Red Light Video: In response to a thread regarding similar problems with "Straight to the A", David responded that "...[W]e have fixed the problem and all DVDs will function normally now." Red Light Video has agreed to exchange defective DVDs. To exchange an defective dvd send it to: Red Light District, 21018 Osborne St., Unit 5, Canoga Park, CA 01301 and include a note stating you are returning a defective DVD and the store where it was purchased. Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum), 03.20.02 and 03.25.02.

Roadblock, Wicked Pictures - ObiBong reports that the "All Access" behind the scenes segment will not play. "Same problem" as described above under "Jack & Jill". DVD Player XBox. Another viewer, PornoBoy, had "no problems" with the disc in his JVC-XV-511. Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 12.26.02.

Response from David Crawford at Wicked Pictures on 12.26.02 in the same forum. "Maybe your player I just checked it on a Sony 330 and it works fine. If you want send it in and I will check your copy, and replace it. Xbox and Playstation 2 are not consistent in playing DVDS"

She Squirts #01, Digital Sin - Viewer reports that this feature would not play on his PC DVD player but plays OK on his stand alone player. Digital Sin did not respond to his e-mail about the problem. The viewer states that he has the latest firmware for the player and "played with all the settings." DVD-ROM Player Unknown. Sluts of the Nile Part 2, Publisher Unknown - Viewer reports that there was no sound at all. DVD Player Unknown. Reported by Bono-One on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 04.13.01.

Still Insatiable, VCA - Viewer reports that about one hour into the movie, the picture freezes, the player starts "clicking", and finally ejects the disc. The player gives the following error message: "This disc cannot be played. Please check the disc." The viewer suspects it may have something to do with a layer change. The viewer also says this happens with some Ben Dover discs also -- the exact titles are unknown. DVD Player Samsung 709. Reported by CykedOut on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 07.12.01.

Straight to the A, Red Light Video - Two viewers report that chapter 1-6 work fine, but chapter 7 (Belladonna's scene) "continually freezes up with parts of the image sometimes dissolving into random pixels." He also states that the bonus scene (Fujiko's blowjob) suffers from the same problem, to a lesser degree. One of the viewers stated that he tried the disc in one standalone player and two computer drives and experienced the same problem. After exchanging the disc, he said the new copy plays scene 7 properly, except for a one second "pixallation" at the beginning of the scene. However, he reports that the bonus scene still has problems. A few other people reported the disc plays OK on their players -- including a Pioneer DV-626D. A third viewer stated the disc would not play properly on his "$1000" Pioneer player. DVD Player Microsoft XBox & "$1000" Pioneer. Torn, VCA - Viewer reports that the scene called "Cued Up" appears to be missing eight minutes of footage, specifically, a sequence where Ginger gets diddled and then screwed on a pool table. According to the viewer, "In title 1, chapter 21 at 01:17:30 elapsed time, the picture begins to blur and disintegrate at the edges. A dark band of variable thickness appears at the right side of the screen. When my player clock reads 7:58 minutes remaining, the DVD skips to title 2, chapter 1. The same viewer also notes another glitch. "In "Hot and Hard" (title 2, chapter 10 at 00:40:44 elapsed time), the picture briefly breaks into three kaleidoscopic images, but corrects itself within 22 seconds." Response YogaGrrl alleges she received a response from VCA, but it did not resolve the issues above. They stated the footage was intact and said there may be a "time code variation." According to the YogaGrrl, VCA also stated that the black edge results from a camera angle shot through a closet door, and the kaleidoscopic effect is an intentionally prismed set piece.

Traces of Love, Dreamland - Viewer reports that there is a "huge sound sync problem where the voice track in no way near [in sync] with the video." DVD Player: Sampo and unknown computer DVD-ROM drive. Reported by Mike Paul on RAME 04.22.01.

Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex, Evil Angel - Reported not to play at all. DVD player Toshiba SD2200. Reported by Kevh00 on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 06.15.00.

Up & Cummers #52, Unknown - Reported to "lose time tracking after the layer change." DVD player unknown. Reported by Diesel on Adult DVD Talk (Talkin' Porn forum) 09.18.00.

Witches Tail (A), Adam & Eve - Viewer reports that the word "Play" comes up on the player as normal and he can hear the disc spinning, but nothing else happens. He is unable to view the movie. Also, he notes that the display does indicate the chapter number it is trying (unsuccessfully) to access. DVD Player: Toshiba 3109 manufactured in 11/99 with version 3 firmware. Interestingly, HoustonDon states that this same title plays fine on his "top of the line" Toshiba DVD player. For related details and responses please see the entry under "Adam & Eve".
