Synopsis

What's Not

It appears that on the DVD, the last scene with Jade is recorded as a separate program.  It plays seamlessly, but this screws up the time. 

I had difficulty determining the length of this disc.  The remaining time calculations at various points in some chapters did not appear to be accurate.  

Sin City tries to force viewers of the DVD version to watch several commercials before the disc plays.  To get around this, just press "stop" when they start, and then press "play" again.  The disc will start playing the movie.   Or, you can press "Root" and go to the Main Menu.  Forced viewing of advertisements is lame lame lame, especially when a sizable number of viewers probably purchased the DVD.

Last Word

It looks to me like a lot of effort went into this making this little movie --  and it shows.  It's a low budget feature that was given big production treatment.  Director Alex Ladd does a fine job here, much improved over his Gang Bang Angels work, where I often felt he was bored and on autopilot.  "Behind the Counter" should appeal to an exceptionally wide audience.  It's almost the perfect blend between a couples film (with a story) and a raincoater  flick (emphasizing anal).  An excellent choice for jaded (male) viewers who want to share an "eye opening" porn flick with significant other.  This one has just the right amount of edge, without crossing over the line that will send her running from the room.  Refreshing!
