Synopsis
"Someone's Daughter" is a wall to wall, gonzo feature with featuring seven fresh faces to the industry. There's no plot, but each girl is interviewed for about five minutes before each scene.
What's Hot
I enjoyed the penetrating interviews at the beginning of each scene. Director David Luger recently commented that they were inspired by the excellent "Shocking Truth" trilogy by Greg Dark. After covering the basics such as age, vital statistics and other neutral background information, Luger aims to discover the motivations of the girls for entering the porn industry and explores their self image. Luger doesn't handle the interviews sequences as sharply as Dark, nor are the questions as creative as those in Shocking Truth. Nonetheless, it is interesting to see how the young girls here winded up doing hardcore and watch them struggle to explain why they are "sluts" but not "whores."
Nice looking cast here. All the starlets were passable in the looks department and most were above average and fresh looking. The guys were generally OK, except for "Mr. Pete" who has an unsavory appearance.
Good production values through out -- clear photography, well lit scenes and good sound. All the DVD features worked as they should on my Sony stand alone DVD player.
Two of the girls deliver worthwhile anal scenes, Saphire Rae and Leyla Lei. Saphire performs anal in many positions, gapes and performs A2M. Raincoaters will like it. Leyla Lei performs anal with two different guys in a row. The second butt plugging in the doggy position is especially hot.
What's Not
Five out of seven girls here do not take it up their tailpipes. That's a fairly low percentage for a RLD movie. Also, there's only one short DP sequence.
I'm a little surprised heavy raincoat material is missing from many of the scenes because it goes hand in hand with the theme of the feature. I imagine the explanation is because all the girls are new to the industry. However, the whole psychological aspect of porn that "Someone's Daughter" explores is much more powerful when the starlets are pushed to their limit. Compare the intensity of the scenes in "Shocking Truth" to the scenes here. Greg Dark not only went after the truth, he was out to "shock" the viewers too -- with the things the girls said and also by the perverted sexual acts they performed.
Blow By Blow
Below is a brief blow by blow account of the sex scenes:
Scene One: Hunter and Avy Scott with one guy. Hunter is the blond on the front cover. She has short hair with bangs, petite breasts and looks the part of a college student. Hunter is wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts. Hunter reminded me a bit of the current Assistant DA on Law & Order. Avy Scott is a 20 year old with long, sandy blond hair. Simple menu structure on the DVD -- "Play Movie", "Scene Index" and "DVD Extras". The extras consist of the bonus scenes mentioned above and a photo gallery. The main menu is attractive, but the moaning and (single) dialog clip about gaping is annoying. Nice silkscreen disc label.
Last Word
For the most part this feature is not a big departure from other Red Light District titles except that it contains elements that appear to be inspired by other popular wall to wall series. As noted above, the probing interviews seem inspired by Greg Dark's "Shocking Truth" trilogy. Fucking a stranger you cannot see (especially with a towel over your head) is similar to Anabolic's blindfold encounters in "Initiations". And the running theme of sexually compliant girls reminded me of the "Submissive Little Sluts" series. Mix these items up in a blender with the normal RLD style footage and you get "Someone's Daughter".
I'd like to see more of Leyla Lei and Saphire Rae (as long as she promises not to say much). These two girls turned in the nastiest performances and were fun to watch visually.
