Synopsis

Elegant Angel regularly produces movies that feature transsexuals and they often include these titles in their shipments when they send me screeners.  I've glanced at them before, but never reviewed any of these titles for the website.  For something different, I thought I would take a look at "Transposed in Brazil #02", which is the most recent one they sent me.  I was surprised to see that the credits identify the director as Alex Ladd, although he is not listed on the box. 

In case anyone out there is not clear on what a transsexual is, a transsexual is a person in which the sex-related structure of the brain that defines gender identity are exactly opposite the physical sex organs of the body.  In other words, a transsexual is a mind that is literally trapped in the body of the opposite sex.  This condition is also know as "gender dysphoria".  Transsexuals suffer from being in the body of the wrong sex and feel driven to fix the problem, and the standard medical treatment is to reassign the transsexual to a physical sex congruent with their gender identity through hormone treatment and surgery.  Thus, it is important to understand that transsexuality is not about sexuality, it is about self identity.  This point might easily be lost on people watching porn tapes with these troubled souls. 

What's Hot

A few of the regular girls in this feature are attractive.  I liked the brunette in scene 3 and the Brazilian blond in scene 4.  Some of the transsexuals in the movies are not bad.  I'm not an expert on transsexuals, so the standard I generally use is -- if I was at a bar and I saw a "girl" who looked like that, would I think she is attractive?  The blond in scene one and brunette in scene four were the best here.

What's Not

Several of the scenes have a substantial amount of gay oriented footage, over and beyond the theme of transsexuals in general.  As an example, there are scenes of guys sucking cock.  Even if it is transsexual cock, that still comes across as strictly gay to me.  There are also several scenes of the guy getting fucked in the ass by transsexuals.  If you are bisexual or gay, this kind of footage is fine, but it's a big turn off for straight guys.  Not every transsexual movie includes this kind of footage.  In some of them, the transsexual girls are treated as normal females, but with cocks.  In other words, the guys do not suck their cocks and the girls do not fuck the guys with their cocks. 

Some scenes came across as flat and generated little sexual heat.  I'm not sure I can put my finger on the reason.   Mostly likely it is a combination of gay stuff, general awkwardness of performers, language barrier and lackluster direction.  Although Alex Ladd has been doing some fine work for Sin City and his newly formed company DVSX, I wouldn't count this as one of his finer moments.

At times the editing was confusing as noted below.  Obviously, this occurred more when multiple couples were involved in the same scene.
