Synopsis

Controversial, hardcore director Thomas Zupko has found a new home at Elegant Angel and this is his first production for the studio.  The setting for all the scenes here is a circus stage with an assortment of hot female characters paired mostly with freaks and weirdos.  There's a plot of sorts in between the scenes, but its main function appears to be window dressing designed more to create a certain "vibe". 

What's Hot

All the starlets here really put out.  Each one performs heavy anal in multiple positions and repeated a2m.  Also, a fair amount of other nasty stuff like messy blowjobs, gagging and gapes are sprinkled throughout.

The AV quality of this disc was very good.

What's Not

At times, the bizarro factor is too high.  Like Greg Dark and Rob Black, Thomas Zupko seems to enjoy odd sexual scenarios.  Viewers who share this fascination for unusual sex will no doubt enjoy it, but others may find some of the situations and pairings here over the top or distracting.  In particular, the appeal of sex with hairy, Sasquatch type beasts or Albert Einstein seems limited.  Bearded women, even in a non-sex role, may be a turn off also.

Below is a detailed description of each scene with commentary:

Scene One - Brittany Blue and one guy (Tony Tedeschi).

The main menu of the disc contains the following choices:  "play movie", "scene selection", "trailers", "bonus scene" and "behind the scenes".  All features worked fine on my Sony standalone DVD player.

This disc contains a fairly interesting twenty four minute "behind the scenes" featurette.  Highlights include a funny sequence about purchasing a "pilgrim hat" rather than a real "top hot" to save money.  Another funny sequence shows Zupko describing to one of the starlets what he wants her to in the scene.  He goes into great detail and seems to visualize it all in his head.  However, his instructions are overwhelming and I seriously doubt she could absorb all that.  Brittany Blue is interviewed and learns she's about to make a movie with the "King of Hardcore."  She says this is her first anal experience in a long time.  Olivia is also interviewed.

Trailers from five other recent Elegant Angel features are included. 

Last Word

"Flesh Circus" is one of the most unique adult visions to come along in the last few years.  Thomas Zupko's strange imagery, sexual and otherwise, is likely to resonate in the viewer's mind for quite some time.  Just don't try to understand it, because it doesn't make sense.  Just before the final scene, Ringmaster Caine seems to explain Zupko's filmmaking philosophy.  "What does it all mean?  I don't know.  Our job is to entertain the audience.  You throw peanuts and we dance."  Sex-wise this feature is filled with acts of depravity, especially hard anal sex and a2m.  The action is often on the rougher side and sometimes shows contempt for women.  Highly recommended to raincoaters.

Rog says this movie is proof that Zupko "is still alive, kicking and capable of kicking some serious ass."  He calls it a perfect blend of bizarre imagery, lyrical dialog, and good, hard sex."  He noted some of the sex was too rough for his tastes.  Overall rating 9.

The circus set reminded me a little of an old HOM bondage title from the 80's.
